    Mathematics<\/strong> is the body of knowledge centered on concepts such as quantity, structure, space, and change<\/em>, and the academic discipline which studies them. Mathematics reveals hidden patterns that help us understand the surrounding world.<\/p>

    Our department aims to help students learn to recognise when and how a situation may be represented mathematically, identify and interpret relevant factors and, where necessary, select an appropriate mathematical method to solve the problem. Mathematics is a means of communication, with emphasis on the use of clear expressions and its application in other subjects, particularly science and technology<\/strong>.<\/p>

    Students who have an enquiring and innovative mind will enjoy Mathematics, while students with difficulty in analytical thinking and numerical logic may find Mathematics challenging.<\/p>

    In addition to encouraging students to be confident and achieve well in the subject, our main aim is to develop mathematical thinking<\/strong>.<\/p>

    Mathematics is a compulsory subject at Grange School<\/strong>. Students who study Mathematics develop creativity and perseverance in the approach to problem solving, appreciate the interdependence of different branches of mathematics and acquire a foundation appropriate to their further study of mathematics and of other disciplines.<\/p><\/div> <\/div>\n\t\t \n

    A high-quality computing education equips pupils to use computational thinking and creativity to understand and change the world. Computing has deep links with mathematics, science, and design and technology, and provides insights into both natural and artificial systems.<\/p>

    The core of computing is computer science, in which pupils are taught the principles of information and computation, how digital systems work, and how to put this knowledge to use through programming. Building on this knowledge and understanding, pupils are equipped to use information technology to create programs, systems and a range of content.<\/p>
